Privacy Policy — Zikr (Zikr)

This Privacy Policy describes how Görkem Yıldırım (“we”, “the developer”) collects, uses, stores, and shares data from users (“you”, “the user”) of the Zikr mobile application (“the App”).
By using the App you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this policy.
1. Data Controller

For the purposes of GDPR (EU 2016/679) and Turkish KVKK (Law No. 6698), the above natural person is the “data controller”.
2. Data We Collect
Zikr is designed with privacy in mind. It shows no ads, does not track you, and uses no advertising/tracking identifier (IDFA/GAID). We do not collect any personal data beyond the categories listed below.
2.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following is stored only on your device in encrypted local storage (MMKV) and is not transmitted to our servers (unless the Premium Cloud Backup feature is enabled — see section 4.1):
- Your dhikr list (title, meaning, long prayer, Arabic text, target, pause point)
- Counter values and daily activity logs
- App preferences (language, theme, text size, haptic/sound settings)
- Premium membership state
2.2 Purchase Data
When a Premium membership is purchased, Apple App Store StoreKit processes:
- Anonymous purchase identifier (transaction ID)
- Purchase state (one-time lifetime product — not a subscription)
- Apple user ID (not shared with us; only with Apple)
We do not use any third-party subscription management service. All purchase flows go directly through Apple StoreKit.

2.3 Crash and Error Reports (Sentry)
The app uses Sentry (Functional Software, Inc., EU region) error tracking. Only anonymous technical information is sent to Sentry:
- Stack traces — do not contain personal data
- Device model, operating system version
- App version, crash timestamp
This data is not linked to your identity, is not used for tracking, and serves only to improve app stability. Sentry data is processed on EU servers (Frankfurt).

3. How We Use Data
- Local data: To provide the core app functionality (counter, settings)
- Purchase data: To unlock Premium features (one-time lifetime purchase — not a subscription)
- Error data: To improve app quality (anonymous)
We show no ads, do not track you, and do not sell any data to third parties.

4.1 Premium Cloud Backup (Future Version)
A future version will offer Supabase-based cloud backup for Premium users. If you enable this feature:
- Your dhikr list and counter data are stored encrypted on Supabase servers
- Account authentication uses Sign in with Apple
- You can disable this feature and delete your data at any time
5. Data Retention
- Local data: Remains on your device until you uninstall the app
- Purchase data: Retained by Apple for the duration of legal obligations
- Error reports: 90 days
6. Your Rights (GDPR and KVKK)
You have the following rights:
- Access: To request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Rectification: To request correction of inaccurate data
- Erasure (“right to be forgotten”): You can delete all local data by uninstalling the App. For data held by Apple/Google, contact the respective service directly or through us.
- Portability: To request your data in a structured format
- Objection: To object to the processing of your data

7. Children’s Privacy
The App is rated 4+, but is not specifically directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe your child has provided us with data, please contact us; we will delete it.
8. Cookies and Local Storage
The App does not use cookies on mobile devices. However, local storage (MMKV) is used to save your preferences. You can clear all local data by uninstalling the App.
9. Data Security
- Local data is stored in MMKV-based encrypted storage
- Purchase data are transmitted over TLS
- Sign in with Apple uses Apple’s security infrastructure
- No passwords or sensitive financial data are stored on our servers
10. Policy Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through in-app notification or by updating this page. The “Last updated” date appears at the top.
